John K. Lloyd, FACHE

Many of us have a friend or a loved one who has either suffered from a heart attack or been warned to change their lifestyle to avoid one. In fact, each year, more than 1 million people in the United States suffer from a heart attack.

When it comes to surviving a heart attack, timely and appropriate treatment is critical. It’s also important to know where to turn for quality care. That’s why I’m proud to let you know that New Jersey’s most recent Hospital Performance Report rates the hospitals of Meridian Health — Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Ocean Medical Center, and Riverview Medical Center — as the leading facilities in Monmouth and Ocean counties when it comes to treating heart attack patients. According to a Gannett News Service ranking based upon this state report, Meridian’s hospitals were the top three in the region for providing heart attack patients with the recommended course of care.

With quick and proper treatment, most people can recover fully from a cardiac event, and coupled with positive lifestyle changes, they can also lessen the likelihood of experiencing a second heart attack. So I encourage you to take advantage of Meridian’s free, heart-healthy educational programs and to visit meridianhealth.com to learn more about the latest in heart news and various cardiac tests.

Sincerely,

John K. Lloyd, FACHE
