Spring is in the air, and as we see new flowers bloom
throughout the state, we also can see the incredible
growth taking place right here at Meridian Health.
Those who have visited Jersey Shore University
Medical Center recently have seen firsthand the
enormous changes taking place. The $300 million
"Transforming Care: The 'New' Jersey Shore" expansion
project is rapidly progressing. The project includes
a new patient care pavilion featuring all-private rooms;
a state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment building
offering the latest technology and surgical suites; a
new Emergency Department and Trauma Center with
the ability to treat more than 100,000 patients a year;
a new garage to ease parking strains; and extensive
renovations throughout the rest of the Medical Center.
With portions of the new project set to be completed
in 2008 and 2009, the "new" Jersey Shore will
provide patients and families with a highly advanced
Medical Center prepared to meet needs for the future.
All four Meridian hospitals continue to grow in
other areas as well, with new technologies, facilities,
and programs. Meridian also continues to recruit the
region's best physicians to join our already highly
accomplished medical staff and supports the area's
best nurses and support staff as they grow in their
careers and expertise.
I am excited about the future of Meridian Health.
As we continue to grow, we promise not to lose sight
of our mission and vision: Meridian Health is here to
take care of New Jersey.
Sincerely,

John K. Lloyd, FACHE
President, Meridian Health
