Wise & Well Winter 2005

Message to Wise & Well Members

Dear Friends,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for welcoming Meridian into your home through our Wise & Well magazine and to congratulate you on taking an active role in your own health and wellness. As a Wise & Well member, we aim to provide you with new knowledge each month on how to live a healthy lifestyle.

We all know that staying healthy and active during the winter months can be a challenge. As the weather turns colder, snow and ice become obstacles, holiday meals can be a temptation to go off a healthy diet, and seasonal illnesses like the flu can affect even the healthiest person. But there are ways to minimize the risks of winter, stay healthy, and enjoy the winter months without slowing down.

In this issue of Wise & Well you will learn some tips on eating right while enjoying the holidays, staying safe and active, and even avoiding the "winter blues." And while winter weather can make it difficult to get around at times, aching joints do not have to be an obstacle. Inside you can also read more about the latest advances in joint replacement options to keep you on the go.

Thank you again for taking an active role in your health and wellness, and I wish you and your family a safe, happy, and healthy holiday and winter season.

Best of Health,

John K. Lloyd, FACHE
