Amanda Edwards, Riverview Medical Center
For Middletown resident Amanda Edwards, membership in Meridian’s Wise & Well program over the past ten years has enabled her to maintain her connection to Riverview Medical Center. Amanda has enjoyed a long, productive relationship with Riverview — first as a registered nurse on the Medical-Surgical and Detox units for nearly 20 years, and now as an active member of the Wise & Well program.
"After I retired from a nursing career that spanned nearly 50 years, it seemed only natural for me to continue my association with Riverview through participation in Wise & Well programs," says Amanda. "Attending programs and health screening activities keeps me informed about various health issues affecting seniors and provides the latest information about the most up-to-date medical technologies available to treat illnesses."
Amanda says she has found the program on hip and joint replacement to be very helpful as she recently prepared herself for the surgery. The monthly health screenings also provide a wonderful opportunity for seniors to monitor their blood pressure, cholesterol, and body fat to ensure that they remain in good health.
Amanda’s membership in Wise & Well led to her joining the hospital’s Community Advisory Committee, where along with other community members she provides advice
to the administrative staff concerning ways to enhance health care services for residents of the Greater Red Bank area. "I truly would recommend Wise & Well to anyone," says Amanda. "Not only does it keep me active, but it keeps me informed on important health issues that I deal with every day."
