Ron and Mary Carr, Jersey Shore University Medical Center
|
For Ron and Mary Carr, Jersey Shore University Medical Center has always been a part of their lives. The two lifelong Neptune residents were born at what they affectionately remember as "Fitkin" Hospital, married after being high school sweethearts, and have been Wise & Well members since at least 1997.
After Ron's heart attack, their Wise & Well membership turned out to be a fortunate event. "The program was really important, and the information it provided was very helpful towards my recovery," Ron says. "I started to attend more programs related to fitness, nutrition, and heart health. It really paid off for me."
Ron and Mary are both active members of Meridian Life Fitness in Neptune. They find the staff members to be caring professionals, dedicated to serving their clients, and improving their lives through exercise and physical strength. "We now have the time to take exercising and healthy living more seriously," Mary says. "The program is reasonable and convenient, and the atmosphere is comfortable and very friendly."
Recently, Ron and Mary attended the Meridian Orthopedic Golf Clinic. "This was one of the best programs offered," Ron says. The Carrs enjoyed the teaching of the Twin Brook Golf professionals, and the helpful and healthy tips of the Meridian Orthopedic physicians.
Mary and Ron are looking forward to this year's clinic on Saturday, May 13, and are encouraging friends and family to take part in this exciting day.
For Ron, a retired supervisor of NJNG, and Mary, a retired dialysis technician from Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Meridian Health has proved a partner both in their professional life and now in retirement. "Jersey Shore was family to me," Mary says. "Now the Wise & Well program is part of my new family, and I really mean family."
