Ocean Medical Center Opens Observation Unit
Ocean Medical Center recently unveiled its most recent upgrade — a 12-bed Observation Unit exclusively for the shortterm evaluation of Emergency Department outpatients.
"The benefits of the new Observation Unit are numerous," explains Debbie Prodoehl, R.N., nurse manager of Ocean Medical Center's Emergency Department. "Not only will the unit provide a dedicated area for our team to determine whether a patient needs to be admitted to the hospital, it will also help improve patient care and satisfaction by freeing up beds for our most critically ill patients."
Peter Daniels, president of Ocean Medical Center, is equally excited about the upgrade. "We are proud to invest in projects that improve quality and service, and the Observation Unit allows us to improve both," says Daniels. "This new unit is yet another example of how Ocean Medical Center continues to proactively respond to the needs of our community as part of our ongoing mission to be the hospital of choice in Ocean County."
