Outpatient Services and Radiation Oncology
Our Outpatient Cancer Program, located in our Ambulatory Care Center, offers outpatient chemotherapy as well as infusion and transfusion services.
Our advanced Radiation Oncology Department offers the latest innovative technologies in an environment that is patient and family sensitive and relaxed. Some of our technology includes:
- A Linear Accelerator with Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), in which a linear accelerator delivers high-energy X-rays and radiation beams to tumors with pinpoint accuracy, for precise treatment of all cancers
- The first Philips wide bore CT simulator in New Jersey, which simulates the actual treatment machine and helps to pinpoint areas where radiation will be aimed
- A High Dose Rate (HDR) Brachytherapy Unit, a method of delivering radiation in concentrated doses directly to the tumor site without affecting adjacent tissues and organs, specializing in treatments of gynecological and lung cancers
- MammoSite® Technology for the most modern treatment of breast cancer
- Access to CyberKnife®, the latest in cancer treatment technology which enables non-invasive treatment for lesions of the brain and spine
Our radiation therapists and nurses are all licensed and board certified, and are an integral part of the cancer care team. Both our chemotherapy infusion/transfusion services and the Radiation Oncology department offer advanced convenience with a special parking area for quicker access to the department.
