Support Groups
Emotional Support: The cancer experience can weigh heavily on the emotions and psychology of patients and their families. The support services of our Cancer Program include support groups for patients, family members, and caregivers. Our support groups include:
- Colorectal Cancer Support Group: Meets the second Tuesday of every month at 7:00pm
- Lung Cancer Support Group: Meets the second Thursday of every month at 11:00am
- Prostate Cancer Support Group: Meets the first Thursday of every month at 7:00pm
- Bereavement Support Group: Meets the first and third Tuesday of every month at Meridian Nursing & Rehabilitation
Cancer Rehabilitation: Cancer rehabilitation is also available through the services of the Cancer Adaptation, Rehabilitation, and Education Service (CARES). This program provides a variety of services including physical rehabilitation, speech therapy, psychosocial support groups, occupational therapy, and a lymphedema program. Also available through CARES are a range of complementary therapies including massage, tai chi, yoga, and fitness training. For more information, call Meridian Health Line at 1-800-560-9990.
