A Message from the Designated Institutional Official

On behalf of Ocean Medical Center, thank you for your interest in our ACGME approved Graduate Medical Education programs. Ocean Medical Center’s vision is “to become a leading graduate medical education organization in Ocean County and the state of New Jersey.”

Ocean Medical Center’s graduate medical education mission is “To provide residents excellent residency training opportunities, in a safe clinical learning environment that meets the needs of our trainees and patients alike, and to develop residents into highly competent, reliable and caring physicians committed to excellence in evidence based patient care, research and lifelong learning, who are able to meet the healthcare needs of the communities they will serve, using curricula supporting ACGME core competencies, adhering to the principles of the CLER pathways and educational methods geared toward modern learners. ”

Our Core Values include Honesty, compassion, physician wellness, professionalism, altruism, respect, and transparency. Patient safety and quality care are defining elements of the culture here at OMC, which is why you will find our GME programs complementary to our already high standards of care.

To that end, residents will have opportunities to participate in the work done by the Quality and Patient Safety committees that drive our process improvement efforts, in addition to traditional educational methods.

The OMC is affiliated with Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford NJ. Residents will have the opportunity to teach RU-SOM third year students who will be doing their core clerkships, as well as other students on elective from other schools of medicine.

I encourage you to consider training at Ocean Medical Center.
